Not so quiet…….
This is the last representation of Etna, in the land of Sicily. Volcanologists call them paroxysms and there has been a lot of talk about them in the past couple of months. Thank God I am only…., Volcanic fumes with distant fallout of lava ash, but, debris as large as walnuts, in the Etna countries. The shot was taken from the panoramic state road SP10, which climbs towards Taormina. Note the size of the column, which in this photo cuts the gulf of Giardini Naxos with a sharp shadow. So big, to obscure the sun in that part, as it would have done over our heads hours later … !!
Questa è l’ultima rappresentazione dell’Etna, in terra di Sicilia.
I vulcanologi li chiamano parossismi e si è parlato molto di loro negli ultimi due mesi. Grazie a Dio sono solo…., fumi vulcanici con lontane ricadute di cenere lavica, ma, detriti grossi come noci, nei Paesi Etnei. La ripresa è stata scattata dalla Statale panoramica SP10, che sale verso Taormina. Da notare le dimensioni della colonna, che in questa foto taglia con un’ombra netta il golfo di Giardini Naxos. Così grande, da oscurare il sole in quella parte, come avrebbe fatto sopra le nostre teste ore dopo…!!
